Graybeard was introduced into the story when he meets Tao at the river.He is wise because he doesn't believe in demons or taboo.He is a wandering shaman that paints in the secret cavern.He tells Tao he will meet him at his cave and eat food with him and show him how to paint.Graybeard is an old man that is very skinny, because he's sick.His responsibilities are to wander back and forth through the clans and paint animals in the secret caverns and predict if the clan is going to have a good hunt.Really, his predictions aren't always right.The clans says he could do magic,but in reality what they call magic, anyone could do it.For example, "a glowing stone stone" is really just a stone that reflects light.Later on,near the end of the story, he dies from his sickness and makes Tao be a chosen one and paint in the Secret Cavern.His body is found in a forest.he is a old man.
